Keystone SDA partner photographer, Niklaus Stauss (b. 1938) received a very special gift from his daughter Barbara Stauss for his big birthday this year. On 30 August 2018, a book will be published by Patrick Frey about his long and extraordinary career.

60-year career

Over the course of a more than 60-year career, Niklaus Stauss has photographed over 50,000 celebrities from the worlds of art, music, theatre, opera, literature, film and dance. He was in Louis Armstrong’s dressing room, photographed Bardot from an airbed and walked alongside the greats in Swiss culture like Niklaus Meienberg, Harald Szeemann and Daniel Schmid for many years. He is no paparazzo, though, he simply photographs people in the places where he finds himself.

The book gives us an overview of the photographer’s oeuvre, but it is also a very personal documentation of the Swiss and European cultural scene over the past 60 years.
